Bruce and Susan have performed in virtually every area of the music business, from contemporary dance bands and symphony orchestras to jazz and chamber music, from live concerts to recordings with international pop stars, film soundtracks, TV and radio, and of course, weddings and private parties. They are known in the New York music world for their versatility, professionalism and adaptabilitytraits that serve their Opus 5 clients well.
Opus 5 Music's extraordinary bands and ensembles have played at the Waldorf=Astoria, the Pierre Hotel, Tappan Hill, Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, the NY Public Library, Cipriani's, Alain Ducasse Restaurant, the Garden City Hotel and many other venues in New York and its suburbs. In addition to performing at elegant wedding receptions and private parties, Opus 5 groups have entertained for such clients as JP Morgan Chase, MTV, Delta Airlines, President Clinton, New York City's Mayor Bloomberg, the New York State Democratic Committee, the American Kennel Club and the Schubert Organization. The consummate trombonist for any situation, this Juilliard alumnus has appeared and recorded with hundreds of artists including Celine Dion, Liza Minelli, The Temptations, Luther Vandross, Bernadette Peters, Marilyn Horne, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Sarah Vaughan, Kristin Chenowith, Tito Puente Jr., and Bebe Neuwirth. In addition, he has been featured in dozens of Broadway Shows including Dreamgirls, Guys and Dolls, City Center Encores and currently, Chicago. BonVissuto has also played at The White House and several Inaugural Balls, and performed and/or recorded with jazz giants like Paquito D' Rivera, Rosemary Clooney, JJ Johnson, John Pizzarelli Jr., Branford Marsalis, Marcus Roberts and Ray Nance. On the classical scene, BonVissuto has toured internationally with The Metropolitan Brass Quartet and is principal trombonist with The New York Virtuosi and The Philharmonic Orchestra of New Jersey. He has been a featured soloist with symphony orchestras and premiered works by Alfred Schnittke, Bruce Adolphe, Charles Small, Vivian Fine and Tatanya Sergejeva. Bruce's beautiful trombone tone has also been heard on the soundtrack of a number of films, and in hundreds of television and radio commercials.
The playing of violinist Susan Lorentsen has graced every aspect of the rich New York musical sceneBroadway, chamber music, opera, ballet and recording. She has performed with every major freelance orchestra in New York, including The American Symphony Orchestra, The New York City Opera, The New York City Ballet, The Metropolitan Opera Guild, Musica Sacra, Solisti New York Chamber Orchestra and countless others. Ms. Lorentsen has had the privilege of performing with many world famous artists including: Itzhak Perlman, Yo Yo Ma, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Pinchas Zuckerman, Emanuel Ax, and many others. She has appeared in over 25 Broadway shows including Hairspray, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Tommy, Carousel and The Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular. Ms. Lorentsen's violin can be heard on the soundtracks of In and Out, Hercules, and Marvin's Room. She has recorded with artists as diverse as Kathie Lee Gifford, Keith Jarrett and Jennifer Holliday, and has appeared with dozens of artists including Stevie Wonder, Julie Andrews, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Bjork, Gladys Knight and The Pips, and Rod Stewart. Ms. Lorentsen has also played in commercials for brand-name products. Susan received her BFA degree from SUNY Purchase. When she is not managing an Opus 5 event, a get-together of her own, or juggling family logistics, Susan can often be found gardening and cooking the produce she harvests.
